Description:
Trequanda is a commune (municipality) in the Province of Siena in
the Italian region Tuscany, located about 70 km south-east of
Florence and about 30 km south-east of Siena.
The ancient village of Trequanda lies in a peaceful location, in a
landscape rich in vineyards and olive groves. Agriculture is the
main economic resource. The town looks medieval and features an
imposing massive cylindrical tower. In the main piazza is the Church
dedicated to Saints Pietro and Andrea with a stunning facade in dark
and light stones and many valuable artworks in the interior. Not far
from the town the small hamlets of Petroio and Castelmuzio are
worthy of a visit.
