Description: Asciano is a walled town of Tuscany, in the province of
Siena.
Ancient borgo of Etruscan and Roman origins, now agricultural and
commercial center 26 km south of Siena.
Sights and Attractions: The "Collegiata di Sant'Agata. In the
interior is the "Museo di Arte Sacra" which preserves an important
collection of Sienese paintings including works of art by Matteo di
Giovanni, Giovanni di Paolo, Ambrogio Lorenzetti, Sano di Pietro,
Taddeo di Bartolo, Valdambrino, etc.
