Description:
Viareggio is a smaller city in northern Tuscany, Italy, on the coast of the
Tyrrhenian Sea, in Versilia in the province of Lucca. It is well known as a
seaside resort as well as being the home of the famous carnival of Viareggio.
The city is a great destination for families, because of its many expansive
sandy beaches, and friendly locals.

and Attractions: The famous promenade for shopping • Villa Orlandi • Villa Borbone (between Viareggio and
Torre del Lago Puccini) • Monument to the Resistance and to Peace. The monument
is made with columns taken from the old City Hall, destroyed by bombing raids
during the 2nd World War • The Gran Caffè Margherita historical cafè-bar, a
meeting place of important people among which of note are Guglielmo
Marconi (the radio inventor) and Giacomo Puccini. (music composer) • Great day
