 Description: Monte San Savino is a commercial town in
a beautiful hilly location.
Sights to see: Loggia del Mercato made up of five round
arches received by Corinthian columns and pillars placed side by
side.
• Church of Sant' Agostino
with beautiful portal and paintings among which one by Vasari.
• Palazzo di Monte, a
Renaissance work by Sangallo preserving a precious sixteenth century
door carved by Fra Giovanni da Verona and the coats of arms of the
most famous city families as well as the portraits of illustrious
citizens of Monte San Savino and of former rulers of Tuscany.
• Sainte Clare’s Church with
several works such as two side panels of a triptych by the Sienese
master Matteo di Giovanni, a valuable high relief by Sansovino
glazed by Della Robbia showing the Virgin Mary with the holy Child
and Saints and an altar-piece by Sansovino.
• Church of San Giovanni
Battista ( St. Jean the Baptist) with beautiful portal.
The 4th Century Palazzo
Pretorio with a stately tower from which visitors can admire the
whole town and enjoy the view

works by Monaco, Margaritone d' Arezzo and Ghirlandaio.

Fortress of Rocca del Cassero which is the City Museum, displays
ceramic vessels and various works of art, among which is a carved
and painted Sienese wooden crucifix dating back to the fourteenth
century.
