TuscaniaDescription: Tuscania is a town of just over 8,000 inhabitants, North of Rome not far from the seacoast. Tuscania, as many towns of this area, stands on series of tufa rock promontories dominating the Valley of river Marta (i.e. an important way of communication since prehistoric times, between Lake Bolsena and the Tyrrhenian Sea near the Tarquinia). Its origins dates back to the bronze age. Tuscania was a powerful Etruscan town and later became a Roman town and and important medieval center. The city has preserved the remains of his circle of walls, towers and characteristics gates. The Etruscans made Tuscania prosperous and powerful, fully exploiting the good geographical position. The earthquake in 1971 damaged its artistic heritage, which has been restored keeping intact its taste and its characteristics that make it unique and wonderful.
