Bracciano lies 30 km north-west of Rome, on the
shore of the same name volcanic lake. Bracciano is a
characteristic historic town with narrow cobblestone paved streets
and large porphyry staircases framing the majestic castle and
offering an enchanting view of Lake Bracciano.
The imposing castle belonged to Orsini and Odescalchi families
is the main sight and emerges on the top of the town. The interior is fully furnished with
antiques and valuable frescos. The castle has recently hosted many
events, especially weddings of actors and singers. Of note is the
marriage of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise.
